Software development has massively improved. and the point was that despite all the productivity gains we made in the 20th century shit is actually getting noticably worse. Aside from a few inconsequential things like the camera in your smart phone and the frame rate of your TV almost everything is becoming lower quality shit from your clothes, to homes, to appliances, to vehicles that are increasingly made from flimsy plastic with a myriad of reliability issues due to all the new “safety” features. And you can’t even afford to get anything repaired anymore. It’s cheaper to just throw things away and buy new.
