As a student at the University of Melbourne, Julian Assange in 2004 organised a quest similar to the games of the mysterious community Cicada 3301. https://wondrousnet.blogspot.com/2022/11/cicada-3301-solution.html

not only QAnon, but the entire period of "weaponized autism" and Pizzagate research threads and so on appears to have been a massive, weaponized form of this type of ARG which actually, Trump wouldn't have been elected in 2016 without it. The entire Trump era hinges on this kind of thing in a real way, which is very poorly understood even aside from the small amount of speculation about things like Cicada 3301.

I'm sorry, I meant to reply to this: you can't say it hinges on this in a "real way" when it's all just speculation and is admittedly poorly understood. I like the theory, but it's very much hard to connect based on info available.

by the way, "The Plan" ultimately comes from Alice Bailey and Lucis Trust, occult organization behind the technocratic new-age movement. The "3 stages" plan seems to come from H.G. Wells' "Open Conspiracy" concept, which was re-iterated by new-age pioneer Marilyn Ferguson as the Aquarian Conspiracy. Elon Musk's grandfather was involved in Technocracy, Inc. as well as the Social Credit movement. Both tied to avant-garde, interwar futurism which would be revived in the new-age ideas of people like Buckminster Fuller. One imitator of Fuller, Jacque Fresco was another member of Technocracy, Inc. who would later create The Venus Project, which would find its popularity by allying with the Zeitgeist Movement during the era of Occupy. New-age themes including "The Plan" (https://www.thevenusproject.com/faq/what-is-the-plan/) abound in The Venus Project and The Zeitgeist Movement. This is the nature of the Elon Musk connection to all this.

Meanwhile the original Occupy movement shows similar influences. Although I do believe there was some kind of shift or re-appropriation of this stuff from globalist Soros forces (Occupy, Arab Spring) to Putin, Duginist and American right-wing forces.

It's not hard to connect and there isn't a lack of information, it's just extremely dense and confusing (occulted) material, but it's out there. The medium article I linked has over 150 sources. Think about it this way: The typical libtards' "It was just trolls" explanation for everything weird that's come from 4chan is actually ridiculous and there's no reason that should be taken as a default explanation. Starting from the assumption that something very strange and cult-like occurred is entirely fair. In the absolute particulars of what occurred, I'll admit I don't know either.

The libtard explanation was that it was the Watkins', the owners and admins of 8kun. That's the narrative of the HBO documentary about it. It even goes into Cicada 3301 as a possibility.

well yes, but the idea that it's the Watkins is essentially a non-conspiratorial explanation (they did it opportunistically), and although the Cicada stuff did get some exposure, there's been a lot of pushback and dismissal of even that by people like the QAnonAnonymous and those type of anti-Q journalists. And the Cicada stuff, while meaningful, is in many ways yet another screen because the people promoting that story couldn't show any concrete connections to either the real Cicada puzzle, or the real creation of QAnon, so it just became another part of this endless, insane LARP.

What's wrong with that explanation? Q gets clicks to their site and it also promotes the candidate they want to win. The motive and methods exclude Cicada, though Cicada could be involved with them.

So why say libs say it's just trolls?

>why say libs say it's just trolls
if you're being sincere, I mean that "it's just a troll" is a succinct representation of the position held by most liberals (ie, Watkins are included in the category of "trolls", regardless of them also being specific people with the last name Watkins or also being motivated by money)

That doesn't make sense because they're big Trump supporters and benefit financially from mode traffic to their site. Why rope that in with "just trolling"?
