>>507899306>brainwash Baptists in bumfuck nowhere South USA to worship them, I have no ideaBack in the 1960s and earlier most Americans—religious or not—didn't even know a country named 'Israel' actually existed. If you said that word to people back then, yeah some of the more religious/bible ones might've recognized it from scripture but beyond that: Blank stare.
Starting in the late 1970s there was the right wing Christian revival movement which went beyond merely the Protestant denominations but also into Catholicism, they snuck in—at various degrees and magnitude—elements of the 'holy zion' Scofield Bible from half a century earlier.
Now *all* of these conservative American evangelical and fundamentalist Christians "believe" that the modern state of Israel actually translates into and is directly connected to the modern post-1948 nation-state of Israel (some of the real whackjob subsects, such as the Christian Zionists, believe it directly connects to the book of Revelation, all the Jews are going to die etc.)
The other thing from 1980s onward that gained precedence was the Oded Yinon plan and wars for Greater Israel using the United States military. By the 1990s and Gulf War I it was pretty much ground into these American fundamentalist Christian skulls that "yeah we gotta fight in duh Middle East, for Israel y'know". And after 9/11 it's been total brainwashing, a lot of anons don't remember or didn't experience the environment in the United States from September 2001 to around 2005 (when serious doubts about what was happening in Iraq were no longer able to be ignored).
It's all for Israel, in their minds. Holy Zion, the blessed holy land muh Israel. And they go to church every Sunday with this, praying for the state of Israel.
