Been living in China for a while now, and coming back to Belgium once in a while feels like witnessing a slow-motion collapse. It’s surreal.
China
>dirt cheap cost of living
>great food literally everywhere and affordable
>ultra-modern transport, you can cross all of Shenzhen in one hour :^)
>collective mindset over individualism
>absolute safety: kids play outside at night, old people doing exercises in public parks
>entrepreneur-friendly culture, no soul-crushing taxes on everything :^)
Meanwhile, in Belgium...
>taxed into oblivion
>“green zones” where you can’t even drive anymore
>street lights turned off at 10PM to “save energy” :^)
>nobody outside at night because everything’s dangerous
>shit wages, hopeless job market
>need to earn 3x the rent just to live in a literal shoebox
>€15 for McDonald’s
>“vibrant diversity” everywhere :^)
JFL what a shithole Europe has become
