I'm not going to look at those links, but the Chinese movies I've seen are ridiculously ahistoric. The only good thing about them is that, unlike in the West, there is no mandatory PoCs (apart from the Chinese themselves, of course) shitting up the place.

There is precedent for this in filmmaking. Romeo and Juliet story originally took place in 16th century Italy, but Romeo + Juliet(1996) worked in spite of the fact that they were shooting guns and not swinging swords. I think you could do an Odyssey film that takes place in "modern" times with modern weapons, in fact in a lot of ways I think that is probably preferable to having niggers pretending to be ancient greeks.

I always assumed that was simply due to historical ignorance.
There's no excuse for it nowadays. But in contemporary historical dramas, they tend to get a lot of input from historians and experts, and the costumes are the one thing they get just right. Then they flush that effort down the crapper by casting a nignog as a White historical figure, making the accuracy of the costumes seem irrelevant.
