Lutheranism is most of the Catholic doctrine and liturgy, but we don't pray to Mary.
There are minute differences in how we percieve the sacraments, but that's genuinely it. We are fine citing and alluding to the Church through the ages. Luther has a bonus of being a hard supersessionist so the Church(who he didn't want named after him) is necessarily dispensationalist.
There are problems in every denomination though, you don't have to look far to find the same kind of secular thought creeping into the LCMS over the past decade.
