Hi Veteran here, that type of thinking isnt based on reality. In the Army youre a rifleman first no matter what job you get, even the safest ones. Also, youre property of the Army and lots of very smart people think they can avoid combat by picking a non combat mos, but guess what theres a big catch. Anytime the Army wants to, they can wave their magic wand and turn you into infantry, regardless of the safe job you picked. Dont worry you wont be the first or last one to whine and cry like a little bitch about how you didnt sign up for this and that it isnt your job. Hope that clears things up!
