Because 33% of the worlds oil comes from t he Strait of Hormuz, there are 100 million people in Iran that if it burst into Civil War would mean 100 million refugees in the US and Europe, and because Iran is not Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, or Yemen and will result in a military draft and WWIII if boots on the ground are ordered.
