>>508086261"Latino" comes from the Latin language (a language I can read), which ultimately derives from the Latium, a region of Italy not that far away from those where my Italian ancestors came from.
I'm Latino and so are the Iberians and Spaniards.
I descend from Italian small businessmen and Portuguese military men and politicians. Some letters between the King of Portugal John VI and at least one of my ancestors survive.
Only 6-10% of Brazilians live in favelas. I've never been to one. There are none in my city. My dad probably owns more hectares of land than your whole family put together, but that's irrelevant to determine whether I'm Latino or not. I am, so are Iberians, as well as the millions of mixed-race South Americans who adopted Latin languages, culture, laws and religion.
Italians are Latinos too. Both Northerners and Southerners. That's why Venetians, Lombards and other Northern Italians are fully integrated into BR society.
In the US, Italians were never able to integrate fully, because they aren't white. In fact, Italians in the US were often lynch, with full approval from prominent Americans like Theodore Roosevelt, who spoke in favor of the lynching of Italians.

Instead of trying to lead the Latin world you would rather lick Germany's boots in the European union. This only goes to show that all the real men in Iberia and Italy died in war or came here. Only their risk-averse cousins stayed home.
