How will future Chinese historians write about vannings? We’ve never seen this type of forced conscription in modern history. It’s an egregious violation of human rights, and everyone can see it, but it’s not talked about in the main stream. The fact that it’s being ignored is almost surreal, seeing as how it’s one of the biggest news stories on the planet.
And there’s obviously more going on behind the scenes; there’s no way people who are kidnapped on the streets end up being compliant while in military service. I’m guessing hundreds or maybe even thousands of men are being executed or otherwise severely punished for insubordination and we just never hear about it.

They can have knives as well. Also, the draft officers have homes that can be burned down, children who can be killed, and wives who can be raped. When a civil war finally happens, it’s going to be brutal.
