It's more like it's an Art of the Deal thing, in that you can say what you want to sell an idea, cause a distraction, or get attention, and you won't be beholden to the validity or follow through on it because in two weeks conditions may change, something bigger may happen, you can promise something else and divert your focus, or/and people just forget about what you were saying. It gives you the ability to come out ahead in the moment without really needing to deliver.
