>Brazil managing to suck is a mystery
Not really. It has some big challenges to development.
>Very hilly in the more temperate regions.
>Extremely prone to droughts or flooding in the tropical regions. Only 2 navigable rivers that cover maybe 10% of the country.
>Half of the country is a huge jungle of global environmental importance that we shouldn’t really touch for the sake of everyone in the planet.
>Multiracial which means that there is a lot of underlying socioeconomic tension through society.
>lots of land but most of it require intense fertilization to become proper farmlands
Many of these things only managed to be dealt with in the last 40 years.
>They don’t even have running water that is not poison.
Despite bottled mineral water being ubiquitous, tap water is pretty safe. The main issue you will find is heavy metal contamination from old piping, which is fairly common in the developed world as well.

Because the american dollar is so incredibly affected by inflation that a mininum wage in america, while unable to properly cover the experses of an average american can feed a whole-ass family here in Mexico.
Also, as mexico got industrialized our agricultural economy got fucked over and young people can't survive off the land that they inherited, and most of them, lacking formal education have to resort to what some call "unskilled labor". Obviously they will go to america, since a burgerflipper job over there pays more than a middle executive job back in Mexico City.

>What’s their problem?
The legacy of Spanish colonialism. Mexico was the prime colonial target because it had a huge, subdued, relatively civilized labor pool ready to be exploited. And the Spanish had a contempt for industry and commerce, preferring the prestige of holding public office, church positions, or being large land owners with flocks of peasants.
As a result the Spanish lagged behind in developing the infrastructure and industry of the country, and after independence their wasn't a native (in the sense of "Mexican", not indigenous) commercial or professional class outside of lawyers.

In contrast, North America started as a relative backwater. The indigenous people here couldn't be corraled into a work force so the settlers had to do everything themselves (except for the South, which suffered many of the same developmental problems as Mexico). The Anglo and west European settlers saw commerce and industry as respectable fields and developed a native professional class. A lot of men who might have fought for political leadership found prestige in business instead, so our political system wasn't as cut throat.

After we achieved independence we didn't have to rely as much on foreign investment and expertise. This gave us greater independence and economic vitality.

Fun fact most of you never learned:
By the mid 1700s 90+% of Americans were literate and books were among the highest traded leisure goods. Paine's Common Sense if it sold the same per-capita as today would have been a 5 million a year record breaking best seller.
American settlers were majority highly educated for their time, exceedingly capable people.

Mexico’s economy, one of the largest in Latin America, boasts a diverse manufacturing base, including automotive and aerospace industries, with $582 billion in exports (2024). Its role in global supply chains, bolstered by nearshoring trends, draws investment from Asia and Europe, making it a key player, not a “cheap vacation spot.”

Mexico’s cultural influence, from cinema to cuisine, resonates globally, unlike Chile, whose economy is far inferior. Chile’s GDP ($335 billion) is half Mexico’s, overly reliant on copper exports (50% of trade), with less industrial diversity and minimal to non existent cultural impact beyond its borders.

Mexico’s influence in Latin America, through trade pacts like USMCA and soft power, dwarfs Chile’s niche role.

Calling Mexicans “retarded” or less developed than Peru ignores Mexico’s higher GDP per capita ($13,900 vs. Peru’s $8,300) and urbanized infrastructure. Mexico is a dynamic regional leader, not a “cuck economy” or country like Chile.

Most people think it's a retarded idea but since our current socialist government now controls all three powers they can do whatever they want.
tldr
Half of Mexicans are poor and/or retarded and voted for the current political party in power because of
1)gibs
2)no real opposition

Only like 10% of the population voted in that shit and half of those votes were null, and yet the government considered it valid since they control everything.

Mayflower American here. I've lived in the US, Canada, and now Mexico. Of the three, Mexico is hands down the best for anyone who values freedom. I do whatever I want here and no one gives a shit. No cops bug me, no natives bug me, and if other expats try and talk to me I just very angrily tell them to fuck off. Mexico is the closest thing to the Wild West any American will ever see. If you're a true freedom-loving red-blooded wild-at-heart sweat-of-your-brow forge-your-own-path ruler-of-your-own-destiny American, you'd love it here.

Come to Mexico White man. Land is cheap. Government is weak. Natives are lazy. If you truly want to build a new society, Mexico is your land of opportunity. And if you're scared of Cartels, you're not worthy to call yourself White. Either way, there is plenty of land in Mexico without Cartel activity. It's a big ass country.

Maybe it's a small consolation, but I think Mexicans should be proud that the Americans who move there almost always speak very highly of it--of the people, culture, food, way of life, architecture.
It's not like Canada, where people move there only to discover it's bland, expensive as fuck, no jobs, and the people are all passive aggressive.
