When I was in the hospital it was some of the most humiliating (as in killing my pride) and beautiful time in my life. All the bullshit fades into the background and you can contemplate what is true. Problem is that materialist society and especially the way we hide death in America (put makeup on corpses) has made death and suffering something we just deny so we don't know how to deal with it or what fruits there may be from it. It's just a problem of a society that has completely killed/denied the spiritual half of our existence (soul) and idolized the material (body).
