Basically the notion of "history" is futile.
It is well known that winners re-write history. Even if they HAD good intentions, it's mostly bits and pieces through the lens of individuals that didn't have access to all the data.
Now we live in the age of information, and it is more plain to see how much and how often both 'sides' lie. It's safe to assume nothing is 100% accurate, and potentially <50% accuracy or sincerity.
To even expect >5% accuracy in historical records is plain insanity and madness.
If you want to approach truth, read fiction... some reality transpire in old novels that will never make it through official historical records.
