Ruloing remotely signals you are not in charge and you can be coup'd extremely easy. You are showing off you are weak, afraid, isolated. You could be killed by bodiguards and no one would know because "hidden in secret location".
I dont know how to explain it better, politicians have to mingle with common people to show confidence and that they are loved.
