I got 20 matches over the course of 6 months on Hinge, the conversations are dropped fast.
I had one bad experience of getting a girl's snap chat and sending her a video.
I'm 90% sure she ghosted me because the video revealed the gap in my central incisors which isn't noticeable when I smile but is when I talk.

That or she could gauge my wealth by what little detail was in the video. Point is, given the smallest amount of detail between 2 people, it really comes down to the slightest superficial shit.

Either way, yeah I never got far with these despite making matches probably due being passable enough to make matches but not attractive enough to compete in the match pool.
