>>508173032It is the same all over the world. The rich exploiting the poor. The poor man toiling in the dirt and staining his clothes, the rich man checking his work in fine clothes all crisp and pristine. It is not right for a man of God to live like a rich man.
The view among Sufis is that a Shaykh should be poor if he is to be a good teacher. Shias traditionally agree. You see it among Christians as well. A preacher should not be a rich man, it is corrupt and wrong.
The Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was generosity and humility. Whatever he received that he did not need, he shared with the absolute poorest, the Fakir, Muslims who did not even have a home and lived in mosques.
That is the origin of the Sufi tradition. They were the poorest of the poor, did not even have a home to live in, only the clothes on their back. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had a special platform built just for them in Madinah, shaded with palm leaves, and shared his daily meals with them.
This was the character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He made the house of worship into a home for the absolute poorest and whatever he did not need he gave to them. Many of them would become Emirs, rulers in their own right.
You would of course believe this ridiculous claim that you cannot survive 4 hours in the sun if you have never done a full day of hard labor in this heat. If you have lived this way, you understand the mistreatment of the working man.
