How about we let Iran have nukes? That way when they inevitably fire it against Israel we just use iron dome to shoot it before impact, and then we nuke Iran

nukes are practically impossible to set off accidentally. I wonder if one shot out of the air would just explode, showing weapons grade uranium all over the place, but not detonating the bomb itself.

That's what a dirty bomb is. However the Iron Dome is like 65% efficient at best while the American army is also shooting down the Iranian rockets now. That project was just a money laundering operation because you bet it was expensive.
