The world wants you to follow their wants and needs without any regard for your life, conscience and your choice.
Ideally it needs to look like you did it on your own, or at best, have done it yourself without any clear connection to them.
I would suggest any fighting age male to refrain from wasting your time in the army unless it is strictly to help you condition towards a routine where you can build on top of it as a foundation and/or there are social skillsets and characteristics you are looking for, that will be a boon for you in the long term.
For nothing else and you should immediately leave after you got what you wanted.
They treat you like a traitorous snake and merc, they should not expect anything less despite their expectations and entitlements betraying otherwise.
A social contract, a military contract that doesn't honor its recruits and staff, doesn't stand up for you and your people, doesn't deserve anything else except betrayal.
