All animals are slaves to nature. Humans win out because we're slaves to a being who loves us. You can make an argument some animals are slaves to humans though, like Dogs. Is it bad that a dog is a slave to his master? Does his master not love his dog dearly, sometimes more than other humans? Does the dog not love his human back?

When you are subject to the whims of a more powerful entity than yourself, the slave/master relationship is the default state. There is no other way it's possible, based on the principle of equality. Are you equal to God? No? Then you're a subordinate to him, just as a dog is not equal to a human, therefor a dog is subordinate to a human. It's a default state of being in those relationships. Any attempt to reverse that relationship will go wrong, because it's highly abnormal and against the natural state.
