Belief is the crutch of the midwit—too insecure to admit ignorance, too dim to see clearly, and too arrogant to shut up. The low-IQ person may not be articulate, but they live in raw contact with reality: they know what hurts, what works, what’s real. They don’t waste time constructing narratives to protect fragile egos. On the other end, the truly intelligent see through belief entirely—they know that belief is what people cling to when they lack direct understanding. The midwit floats in a limbo of secondhand thought, parroting books, institutions, and authorities, desperately stitching together a worldview that sounds smart but means nothing. Belief is their armor—because deep down, they know they don’t know.

This is why midwits foam at the mouth when their beliefs are challenged. They confuse memorization for wisdom, consensus for reality, and doubt for danger. They preach facts like dogma and mistake complexity for depth. But they’ve never actually seen—they’ve only assembled. Their beliefs are defense mechanisms, not insights.

The low-IQ doesn’t pretend to know, and the high-IQ doesn’t need to pretend.

I seriously tried to believe in God, but I'm struggling have that mindset since I'm born in a retarded Buddhist family, so my brain is only adapted to praying in the Buddhist way, which is to ask for money and other materialist stuff.

It's because the original meme has Atheist midwits in the middle with theists on both ends of the bellcurve.

Atheism is a true mental disease.

Faith is a very peculiar thing anon, and it's not quantifiable or really arguable - we're used to making our decisions based on analysis and other intellectual qualifiers, but the existence and experience of God truly defies the pride and understanding of Man

I did attend church weekly for like three months
My experience is
>pray
>no response
>it's alright since God isn't obligated to respond to me
>pray
>still no response
>sin
>pray for forgiveness
>no response
Then I gave up
Also I don't think I can live up to God's standards

10,000 years ago you people would be saying "What causes thunder if not God?" and when the other person appropriately responded with "I don't know yet." you would count that as a decisive victory for your "Angry thunder god did it" explanation.

This is what Jesus came for brother, I encourage you to read his words in the Gospels and really meditate on them - you start seeing the pure love of God in them
And also I'm being honest when I say the VAST majority of my prayers are just plain gratitude and praying for others
This practice has set me free from the tyranny of the small Self which has only pride in its limited knowledge, and is only obsessed with itself - not the wisdom and freedom that comes from faith

My friend, none of us can live up to God's standards, that is why we have Jesus Christ interceding on our behalf as it was Christ who lived the life that none of us could live and who died the death that none of us could die.

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, none may come to the Father except through Him.

As Christians we are called to be "Christlike" "followers of Christ" and my personal favorite, "Little Christs" we are to conform to the image (character) of Jesus Christ which is done through the process of sanctification.

It is a lifelong process. Wherever you are, God will meet you there.

There was a phase that if I participate in Christianity, Islam seems to make more sense, and when I participate in Islam (not really participating but I travelled to a mosque in the middle of nowhere), Christianity seems to make more sense, I did end up choosing Christianity, mainly due to Islam having too many rules on things, obligated to praying at midnight/fasting for a whole months/no music/food restriction etc. and I know I'm going to hell either way whether I believe it or not if Islam is true

The thing is that I don't feel like I'm genuinely, people often bring up stories like murderers completely changed after believing in God, but I don't think I'm as worthy, since they genuinely believe in God, but I just feel like a hypocrite when I pray, praying only for my own desire.

Well, I found a blog treating the graph as genuine written by a guy who seems to be on the side of the theists, so I guess it's trustworthy enough. However the blogger defends the graph as not being too detrimental to theism by saying that, although those intra-theist and intra-atheist IQ distributions are correct, there are still more high IQ theists than high IQ atheists, which I guess makes sense given that atheists are still a considerable minority in the population as a whole. Though he also claims that according to the data there are twice as many very low IQ atheists as there are theists in general, which I find hard to believe.

>there are twice as many very low IQ atheists as there are theists in general
*correction, he says that "Of the dumbest strata of *college graduates*, nearly half, 46 percent, are atheists. That’s twice as many as all types of theists combined."
Though I still find it hard to believe. Maybe what he's saying implicitly is that *within* the dumbest strata of college graduates, there are twice as atheists as theists?

But I don't see how that works given that according to the graph theists are concentrated around the middle while atheists are away from the middle, and there are more theists than atheists... I think I still need to see the actual numbers.

The fool laughs at belief because he mistakes it for a leash; the wise laugh because they know belief is a bridge. The midwit sees a man building and scoffs, thinking the house is a cage. But belief isn’t chains; it’s scaffolding. And everyone, from brute to sage, builds upon something.
To feel pain is not to understand it. The low-IQ may touch the fire, but they do not learn to harness it. The midwit maps the world not out of arrogance, but because the unknown is large, and maps, though flawed, help you move. Even if borrowed, a map offers direction until one can see for themselves.
The truly intelligent don’t shed belief; they transfigure it. What was once clung to becomes integrated. They aren’t post-belief; they’ve made belief transparent, like glass that lets light in without being mistaken for the source.
It’s easy to mock belief when you forget it bore every civilization, protected every child, and fueled every leap. What matters is not belief or disbelief, but the direction belief bends you toward. Not whether you borrowed your ideas, but whether you walked them into meaning.

I guess maybe "the dumbest strata of college graduates" as the person has defined it is a small enough group relative to the whole population that it could have a very unusual proportion relative to the whole without visibly the whole. So, while there aren't many midwit atheists, the ones that do exist happen to be unusually highly concentrated among college graduates.

That's the power of education, I guess.
