If you are poor you can get free health insurance. If you are close to poor you can get financial aid from the doctors office/hospital. A lot of them are also just fucking lazy or are obsessed with pride - i.e. they won't bother asking (or will refuse to ask) for financial aid paperwork at a hospital or even refuse to sign up for medicaid.

Healthcare in Europe is not free nor cheap, I fucking hate Europeans and American leftists bragging about European healthcare when it is very very far from perfect. And here American healthcare is always used as a counter example to explain why private healthcare does not work, when in reality Medicare and Medicaid take a lot from the statal budget and moreover there are laws incentivising the socialization of costs even within private insurance. Even if the service is private, it becomes a lot more expensive if the cheap expenses like cold or sprained ankle treatments are distributed among all the members of the company, for the same reason why a dinner ends up being more expensive per person if the bill is shared, as each person wants to be one taking advantage from the others. Only catastrophic and unaffordable treatments like cancer should be socialized in private insurance, and that way it would be the cheapest.

The other half have to take part in the monoply scheme of private health insurance where hospitals are for some reason permitted to bill $8 for a 50-cent alcohol wipe but any attempt to regulate that monopoly is considered "communism" by half the country.

What's interesting is the half of the healthcare economy which is socialized is run exactly the same way the French system is: the government just audits costs and doesn't actually own or operate much of the healthcare apparatus. The obvious solution then is to simply expand Medicaid to anyone who prefers it over their private insurance, but this enrages the Jew and the libertarian retard who doesn't understand reality or economics. The net result is the Jew will be forced to compete for your insurance premiums and it cannot stand the thought of a market economy.

Never got the "healthcare is too expensive" thing. Most states have free or cheap healthcare, every wagie job I've ever had gave me good healthcare benefits, and even if I didn't have those most hospitals have payment plans in a worst case scenario situation. In an even worse case, you can technically never pay medical bills and they won't count it against your credit. Never had this happen because even the shittiest wageslave job I've had working retail gave me good benefits. Most people complaining about healthcare don't want to do the work to sign up for it. That's about it.
