Having nukes is not a war crime, it's because Iran is the only country in the region able to stand up to Israel. So if they got nukes it would mean Israel could no longer be the aggressor it is in the region because nukes are a deterrent. Iran is a threat to the "Greater Israel" project so they must be kept docile or wiped out.
