That makes it harder, as the coasts are inundated with whack jobs and nogs.

The most truly “average American types” come from places like Wisconsin, Kansas, Iowa, and the like.

If you want a taste of it, I would recommend Pennsylvania, Virginia, or the Carolinas, with the caveat of knowing that cities like Philadelphia and Charlotte are not representative of the rest of their states.

Euro types tend to enjoy rural Pennsylvania, and even the cultural and culinary aspects of philly if they are taught to avoid the nogs and to “never relax” when in their infested areas.
