I take type theory/logic and jews at my school always talked about Talmudic logic so I read some of it and there is a logic system built in they're supposed to follow they use to filter.
It's basically a chronicle where every minor statement is recorded like some peasant farmer jew will chime in on some law saying something totally insane while there exists a dozen other opinions. I assume the Hadiths are the same yet not as thoroughly recorded where they only kept unanimous opinions. The US Constitution has a similar chronicle where when it was drafted every minor or dissenting opinion was also recorded and the supreme court there uses this to interpret the constitution.

They argued this point for 7 years and THAT'S what they came up with?

I am not sure why you are implying that Jesus was opposed to the Pharisee sect and its claims. He considered them to be righteous enough to command Christians to follow every word of theirs. Of course he also believed them to have flaws (their hypocrisy and how they were addicted to vanity), especially the leadership but not their religion per se. He even told them they have the same authority Moses had. So it's pretty clear the oral and written law are affirmed by Jesus and that means whatever is written down in the Talmud is just as authoritative as the bible which was canonized quite late itself.

I’m gonna be honest I’m a Jew (cut dick, Hebrew school, bar miztvah, etc). I had never even heard of the Talmud until
I started browsing /pol/. I’ve certainly never read it and I don’t know any Jews who have. I always find it interesting people use the “denounce the Talmud” as a sort of gotcha but the reality is 99% of Jews would have absolutely no issue saying that. I denounced the Talmud btw (i don’t even know what it says).

There's the Talmud /pol/. The whole thing, in Aramaic, Hebrew, and English. It's about 50% ramblings, 50% debates, and 100% autism. Think of it like the Sunnah and Hadith in Islam, but a bit less retarded (primarily due to the fact that it requires better reading comprehension, because of the layout, lengthy commentaries, and the tendency of these rabbis to go on absurdly long tangents before getting to the point).

It's mostly innocuous nonsense and semantic nitpicking, but there are some comedic vignettes ('Your rabbi's penis is fucking huge, no cap, but my penis is as big as ten pounds of olives!'), offensive stories ('I met the prophet Jesus in a dream, and he told me that he swims in hot shit all day because God is angry that he loves Jews more than he loves God'), and advice that makes very little sense ('Be careful not to eat fish and meat that were cooked in the same kiln, because it will kill you').

Even the Jews that actually care about the Talmud, and think it should be treated just like the Old Testament / Torah, have usually only read a fraction of it. Most other Jews either view it as a culturally important work, and major component of their intellectual tradition, or simply dgaf about it at all.

Most Christian’s aren’t actually studying the Bible or early Christian scholars. Most Jews havent even touched a Talmud. /pol/ quotations of the Talmud that I've looked into so far remind me of the Skeptic's Bible, they tend to quote things out of their context to make them sound worse than they are or make them sound like they say things they don't actually say. They always come in infographic form so you're always dealing with a guy who saved it from a guy who saved it from a guy who went through a Talmud one time looking for salacious quotes and just put out what he found.

I think the whole thing is for dumb people. Ironically it always reminds me of Rules for Radicals; Alinsky states in there that you can't form a mass movement by saying that your opponents are 51% evil, you have to say they're 100% evil, or people just won't do anything for your movement. Honestly man I’m not entirely sure. My thinking of it is the ethnic element comes from common cultural components seen with (mostly Ashkenazi) Jews. Things like values, food, music, language. Obviously much of this is shaped from Jewish law but as the world has gotten relatively more secular I think people like myself just treat it as identifying characteristics of the group they are apart of without much thought to the origins or religious component. Personally I dont subscribe to the chosen people thing but I imagine most (less religious Jews) believe god to be a loving entity who won’t hold their disregard of laws against them. They think that due to their status as chosen people they will ultimately be fine. Not saying this belief makes sense or has scriptural backing but it’s the sense I get. I think a large amount of Jews strongly identify with their culture/group/team due to hate and persecution. Almost. It's not that ancient. Talmudic Judaism is a consequence of the Israelites getting owned by Rome; for secular historians it thus coincides with Rabbinic Judaism.

The ancient Hebrew religion was its grandfather. The father was Second Temple judaism.

The Talmud is an attempt to adapt the religion based on the Jerusalem Temple to times when there was no Jerusalem Temple anymore. They could either discard or suspend the former rules and ritual and come up with new ones more appropriate to their situation, or keep the old ones and nitpick their way around anything that was obsolete. And they chose the latter.

It is really much like the hadith in sharia. And just like there, the trick is to find some exegete who nitpicked just the way you needed it for your purpose. Gaddafi was the master of the latter - he went as far as to establish his own Sharia code. So what many are unaware of is that Gaddafi's Libya was a Sharia state too, but that particular brand of Sharia was considered apostasy anywhere outside Gaddafi's Libya.
And with Jews having no state but being dispersed in all sorts of factions throughout the Diaspora, Talmudic law is even more of a self-contradictory clusterfuck than Sharia law.

The true legal code of Judaism is the Mosaic law, which the present State of Israel violates on a daily basis.
