It's not smoke that triggers the chirping, smoke would set it off completely. The chirping is meant to annoy you so you will change the battery to stop it. Problem is, blacks on average have a smaller prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for long term planning. It's likely that when it chirps, they either don't think that it would be a good idea in the long run to change the batteries now despite you not wanting to take the 2-5 minutes it would take to find some batteries, take over a ladder or stool, climb up and change the batteries. So instead they just push it off to the future, and 2 minutes later another chirp. If it was a continuous sound they would likely change it, but since it only happens every 2 or so minutes, they will ignore it. I also don't think it's only blacks this happens for, it's likely all lazy people, just happens niggers are lazy and only care about instant gratification.
It likely the same reason that niggers can't be taught to farm. Every heard of those people that go to Africa to teach villages how to farm? After they are taught and under the surveillance of the white farmers, things go well, but if the whites leave, the niggers will eat the seeds instead of planting them. This is likely because of that inability of long term planning, if they don't get instant gratification, they won't do it. And if they can't even do this 2 minutes into the future, then farming where it can take months will never happen for most of them.
