From what I've gathered, he was originally born in China, and his parents immigrated to Canada. I believe he studied for an English major in Toronto.

After graduated from Toronto, he moved back to China and advocated for education reform. He would go on to tech at different Chinese schools. Currently, he's English/History/Geopolitics teacher at a private high school in Beijing that caters to people who want to study/move abroad.

We can assume that he's probably has some liberal views (or just a full-blown liberal) that's tolerated by the CCP because he doesn't advocate for regime change in China.

Did you watch his latest video? He predicts that U.S., Israel, and Iran all want the U.S. to deploy ground troops in Iran. This is so that:

1. He thinks Trump sees American troops fighting in Iran and a potential civil war in America as an opportunity to get a 3rd term and get more political power.

2. With the U.S. and Iran distracted, Israel can start creating Greater Israel and annexing more territory in the Middle East.

3. Once America gets bogged down in Iran and is forced to retreat, Iran can use this as a political victory and unite the Muslim world.

He's saying that the primary interest of CCP is for them to stay in power. China's geopolitical interests are secondary. China is isolationist because they have to be right now. The stability of the CCP matters more.
