How do we get our politicians to reveal to the public what's going on in American deserts? Will FOIA requests do the job?

They just don't respond to any FOIA requests they don't like
Anonymous (ID: xfEK5du7) United States No.508387479 >>508388013
I'm not trying to make waves or nothin, I'm just saying, it'd be better for us to know what goes on out there.

I think it's just strange is all that so much information is publicly available on Google maps, like what looks like the path of an underground tunnel, but the public can't get their hands on this through conventional means e.g. FOIA requests. Odd stuff.
Anonymous (ID: xfEK5du7) United States No.508387843 >>508389023 >>508391425
Surely there'd be political means for blanking this stuff out of Google maps. Take this situation for example. That could be a completely benign facility, but it looks rather ominous.

I'm not really sure why you are doing a close up here? the area around the runway is just a cleared/flattened dirt area so the planes don't hit anything. Hence why you can see tire tracks around the runway

Just join the military if you want to know :)

You can see all these vehicles just sitting around and it makes me wonder how much of our taxes is going toward keeping those maintained to do...whatever it is they're doing. Maybe the OMB can shed some light on this stuff.

I'm just browsing the maps to see if anything interesting shows up that implies our tax dollars are being spent on things we don't know about. And it looks to be the case.

I wonder if our boys eat well at Bistro 6900. I can't even find a menu online. Another government-subsidized food program? So many questions.

At least we test out all our ordnance in the desert before we sell it to the Big Guys so they know they're not buying duds.

Looks like they're training T-1s out there. How long until they make a T-100???? Is there any congressional oversight at work here????

I need to find out what devices they're assembling out there. Just any devices, or specific devices? T-100 parts??? It's days like this I wish we had government transparency. It could help us avoid a lot of undue confusion.

Look at this absolute unit of an assembly complex.

They left so much cool stuff out there. Are we sufficiently budgeted to maintain this stuff? In THIS economy? Is this why government wrenches cost $150?
Anonymous (ID: xfEK5du7) United States No.508389887
What was this even used for? Look at all that space. Seems wasteful. Government waste.
Anonymous (ID: xfEK5du7) United States No.508390192 >>508391723
Speaking of government waste, it looks like they just shove everything into the mountain and call it a day. Does OMB budget for possible catastrophes, like leakage or what have you? Or do we save money treating our desert like a global landfill?
Anonymous (ID: xfEK5du7) United States No.508390884
Okay guys, now THIS probably does not show up in the OMB's budget.

I think these are burn pits
the dump nasty chemicals in them and burn them once in a while

That makes sense. They're handling a lot of hazardous materials out there.

>possible catastrophes, like leakage
deny, deny, deny. Former employees who exposed to very dangerous chemicals and got sick could not get DOD to tell their doctors what the stuff was, and just denied there exposed or even worked there. The workers also had to sign NDAs. DOD denied Area 51 existed to the judge even though plaintifs showed judge public satellite photos of the place. You work for the DOD and die or get sick, they don't care.

I hope for their sakes the government paid them well using the tremendous budget this country keeps, not that that's any consolation for getting poisoned and dejected by your own leaders.

And when I look east of Vegas and close to California, I wonder if the bloated Californian budget is paying for any of this.

Perhaps one day we'll be able to FOIA what the hell these things are. They aren't runways for normal aircraft, that's for sure.
