The concept of fighting back against an active shooter, terrorist, or whatever. In Euro-Poor countries you cannot do anything other than be slaughtered like a helpless lamb. Here in the United States there are countless examples of based armed citizens pulling out their CCW and smoking a criminal. But you don't see that ever happen in Europe. In Europe you just simply get your head cut off by a jihadist or acid splashed in your face or whatever, and you can do nothing but die. That is no way to live, but this is the dystopian nightmare Europe is under.

That's because criminals (by definition) do not obey the law. Saying the guns are illegal will not stop a criminal from getting one. What it WILL do, though, is stop law-abiding citizens from getting one, and then when a criminal goes on a killing spree there is no hero with a gun able to stop them.

My point is that allowing law abiding citizens to carry guns and potentially stop them makes society better off.

This is all the more reason why guns are needed. We live in a low-trust society because we've been flooded with migrant invaders and are no longer ethnically homogenous. This distrust doesn't exist for no reason. You can either arm yourself and defend whats yours like the Roof-top Koreans, or end up a statistic.

The problem is you're not a trained officer or soldier. Someone hears a gunshot, everyone nearby pulls out their concealed carry. They look around for someone with a gun, only seeing each other holding guns. Confusion and nobody stopping the shooter at best, friendly fire at worst.

Having a gun only really helps in one on one encounters, not mass shootings. Hence why the left wants to ban specifically assault rifles and not pistols, aka weapons good for mass shooting and not personal defense

It's a choice you can make as a society, with tradeoffs. Either you decide to hand off the monopoly on violence to a state and hope that it will protect you from each other (at the cost of potential for tyranny), or refuse the monopoly on violence and hope that the threat of armed response from average citizens (at the cost of more violence seeping through the cracks).
You can see from the point of view of "do you agree with Hobbes on the Leviathan". European approach is to agree, American is to disagree.
I don't think any one is morally wrong. Both should exist and people should be able to choose the society that suits them best. I disagree with american liberals who want to turn America into EUv2. They are taking away from the US that which makes it unique. I am not sure why they don't just move to Europe, it seems like this is what they want.
Maybe in time history will show us which way to run a society is more effective, but maybe not and we'll just know that for a period of time humanity practiced both approaches in different places.
