A lot of intelligence comes from the subconscious that is how you are able to navigate your day to day life without much effort or thought, basically automatic memory and yes it does count as an intelligence as does emotional intelligence and instinct. Well I am a first gen college grad and I'm in the STEM field (doctor). My father makes more money than me as a finance guy but I don't consider him "smarter" in general. I don't think he has as much peace as I do. For me, that's a major metric of success.

My mom is smart in the classical academic way but is completely unable to see beyond the superficial as far as society goes. I think it's because she herself is too invested in her worldview and at her age she's not really interested in reconsidering it which I understand. My dad is much less classically intelligent but he has an intuition that makes him more open to truth and different perspectives but he'd never really be able to come to the conclusions on his own. I like to think that I got the best aspects of the both of them.
