It succeeded in the same way that the make up remover app succeed. For a few months, it got a decent amount of attention and many a roastie seethed. Ultimately though, the only way for such memes to fully succeed is by changing normie culture, and no single meme is going to stop women from being slutty attention whores.
Once it became clear that no change would occur, the meme lost its momentum and faded away.
