Gotta get the ones in EVOO from abroad while civilization lasts. It's worth the extra price.

Lately I've been enjoying Adriatic deenz.

Sardines don't have that much mercury. Better than eating tuna, sadly. Don't like the canned ones much, but fresh and barbecued they are fucking delicious

Pink slime you mean?

Sorry I will take a beautiful fully formed fish created by God instead of the waste pressure washed off a carcasse in a Chinese owned and managed "USDA" slaughterhouse.

I'm under the impression deenz and mackerel are fine because they're small fish, generally speaking the bigger the fish, the more heavy metals it's likely to contain.

My grandma loved these. She liked them because her dad ate them in the army, but they were gross as a kid. I also thought they were gross as a kid, but now I don't mind a tin. Great for hiking and backpacking. Ready to go protein that doesn't need to be refrigerated. Hell of a lot cheaper than jerky too.

The cheap deenz come from Thailand or morocco. There is still a sardine industry on the west coast but the catch gets fed to factory farmed salmon, which is a shame because American pacific deenz are apparently exquisite

I'm going to eat some in a bit. Should I eat Parodi, Connetable, Otter Kingdom, Adriatic Sardina, Goya, or some of three of the Moroccan brands?

All are in olive oil. NEVER buy deenz in (((oil))), always insist on olive oil or EVOO.

Yes but I like the plain of every brand. They have to be the BEST to be plain.

Flavored deenz as a rule are a few days off by the time they hit the cannery. You can always spice your deenz yourself.
