>>508531524 (OP)They're great if you can handle them, but it's not worth the risk of finding out. There are ways to train yourself ahead of time to deal with them, but written resources don't cut it. You need someone who's actually trustworthy you walk you through them, and again, it's not worth the risk of finding out. If you're determined to try them anyway, then this is my advice:
1. Cook. A lot. Don't follow recipes, do it by feeling. The act of cooking is meditative, and will help you understand the parts of you that the shrooms will activate. Dancing and martial arts are also good for this, but cooking is the easiest thing to get into if you're on your own. Find spices that fascinate you, and watch how they influence your whims. Turmeric, ginger, and black pepper together are a mild psychedelic that can help prepare you.
2. Weed. People call it the gateway drug for a reason, and it's because if you can maintain your sobriety and stay clear headed then you're much more likely to be able to handle other drugs. Look at it like weight training for your mind.
3. When you first meet the dragon, it will slam you down to the ground. Many people enjoy being overwhelmed, and that's why they fail. The dragon will play with you like this for a while, but eventually it will get bored and run away from you. Catching the dragon is easy because it wants to be caught, but you'll never do it if you just want it to run roughshod on you again. Your job, from the very beginning, is to wrestle the dragon down. YOU need to be the one who gets bored and moves on. Hence training with weed first.
4. If you're told something, and you don't understand, don't ask to hear it again. If you do, it will speak louder and louder until you become totally deaf. This is a deep and painful loss. Just accept when you don't understand something and move on. When you come back down you will digest the experience over the weeks, months, and years, and you'll come to understand it in your own time.
