take the DNA pill
DNA is fake.
Just look at this nonsense.
But a lot of that information is corrupted. Biological systems don't store exact copies.
The nutter who invented it was high on lsd.
And We're supposed to believe some drug addicts fantasy.

it’s also complete horse shit. theoretically yeah you can map a binary sequency to the A T C G things like
A = 0000
T = 0001
C = 0010
G = 0100
and such but petabytes of legible data? video files? lmao no

Retarded popsci garbage. The toothpick that I'm chewing on right now can store all of humanity's informational output for the entire written history so far. Just because the atoms of the toothpick can be configured into variations that mirror data encoding doesn't mean that you're actually *storing* data in them. Storing is when you can store and retrieve with ease and with a near-zero cost. Good luck arranging the atoms of the toothpick in any useful configuration that is not just a toothpick.

The read and write speed leaves something to be desired. As does the stability of the information over time, a lot of the space would need to be set aside for redundancy if used as data storage.

It's a rather effective form of data storage though: everything around us came from humans and our capacity to learn & remember and that's all a byproduct of our DNA. Humans could remember, store, and recall the most complex, dense information as long as a string of them decided to log & retain the knowledge over courses of generations. And as generations go on, each & every one can disseminate, analyze, and contribute to this data over time, thus refining what is at hand. It's like a form of defragmentation as the data accrues & compiles. And as one individual uses what was given to them by their DNA to store information, they can then replicate this information in the world around them, convert it to other forms of media, to pass onto the next generation for processing and storage. DNA is literally the one storage format that can't be outpaced or made obsolete because our DNA builds the world around us. It is one of the most base storage format. It is the one storage format that contains the knowledge to build all other storage formats, outside of using the atomic positioning of the Universe as a multi-state transistor computer.
