Unlike most bourgeoisie (don't attack me for using the word, I'm not a commie), he actually understood the danger of building a country upon a foundation of pure greed and individual enrichment and did everything within his power to prevent America from falling into a pit of endless self-sabotage and rent seeking that would lead eventually to its stagnation and decline as a world power (he was unfortunately unsuccessful). He was simply a civic-minded guy, he had a higher concept of what America and the whole world could be if the industrialists sacrificed only a little bit of their own potential profit. He is maligned today by Jews and their parasitic brethren who believe sacrificing something like 10% of their potential gains for a better society and world in general is sacrilege.
