in order to de-legitimise western tradition it was necessary to convince people their art was ugly and old fashioned so modernist art could be a clean break.
you see it with modern architecture too, they make the city ugly to desensitise you to their dysgenic ideas and people they import. almost no one except architects actually likes styles like brutalism or generic 'international style' but they will tell you it's pastiche to try and build in the tradition of your ancestors
