Because Russia has an economic and strategic partner with both Israel and Iran. So no matter who won the war he lost. I'm guessing despite all the credit Trump is taking for the cease fire he Putin was actually the one doing the talking to both parties.

Russia cant help Iran even if it wanted because it engages all resources into war in Ukraine. It was more Iran supplying Russia with drones and technology of their production.
