>>508717237 (OP)Italians still insist that a guy who couldn't even speak/write Italian and had to use a diplomat as a translator, used the jewish calendar, used Jewish metric systems, celebrated jew holidays like hannukah, was one of them (although modern Ashkenazis are actually Italian).

The DNA analysis done in the rests of Columbus demonstrates he was from Spain and possibly a converted jew, he created a fake past as an Italian for concealing his jewish origin once he converted (he told where he was from differently to each person he deceived, the Spaniard Alonzo de Santa Cruz, c. 1550, said Columbus was from Nervi, the Spaniard Pedro Cieza de Leรณn writes that Columbus was originally from Savona, etc...).
He chose the name Cristobal (Christ bringer) and he brought Christ to a whole new continent. He was smart, lived on the coast and islands of Portugal as a young man, listening to sailor's stories. He married the governor's daughter, then petitioned the newly resurgent Spanish Crown to fund his journey. Note, the term India referred to both India Septornalis and India Meridionalis - from Ptolemy's Geographica. Columbus knew exactly where he was and it wasn't India Septorinalis (Jeetland).
The only similarity I see between him and the Italians is that what he did is similar to what the Italian Mafia did. But it itself was full of Jews, so it didn't matter if it was Iberian or Italian at the end of the day.
