To honestly answer your question, trust would be earned back the moment academia starts regarding truth as the most important aspect of its foundation. Right now it's just money and appeasing social agendas. So it's just used as a tool by the highest bidder. And this feeds into the medical industry and government oversight. I had really bad colitis for 9 years and cured it myself through diet. I didn't eat "unhealthy" but there are plenty of foods that don't need to be consumed by humans that are touted as "healthy". All a specialist will do is prescribe overpriced medicine and tell you to eat anything you want. I had a coworker commit sudoku being dependent on biological infusion medicine he couldn't afford that has body was dependent on. Fuck doctors.

They produce poisons. Morphine poisons the ability to feel pain away. Maybe not feeling pain is beneficial but morphine doesn't make you healthier. And it's the same with other drugs that help against symptoms. Then there are drugs that are just mere poisons without any advantage, like all vaccines for instance. The industry is basically the cult of poisons and has to go away.
