In America that’s the case. In China the government wants its citizens to be healthy and productive, so the meals are healthy and balanced

it worked out the same in my US highschool too, you have an account and people with an account pay with it, only not everyone had to get an account so some people would just pay day-to-day or bring lunches, and some people had a special poorfag account that let them get food for free(of course, this was abused)

china, japan actually has free school lunch or it's included in the tuition fees or gets expensed by the school for tax credits, depending on the kinda school you go to.

the people in the video are quite literally paying for lunch at a chinese prep school. it isn't a normal highschool and the running thing looks like an inside joke or challenge between members of a friend group that sync'd up their watches and are racing. a security guard or lunch lady is also unhappy with them doing this.
