In foreseeable future enclave will be surrounded by a wall and minefield. In case of shit hitting the fan, any military instalation will be leveled by hundreds of Himars/Chunmoo missiles which makes its useless from strategic (and even tactical) perspective. Only land connection with Russia is by single train line, which isn't very reliable, as it depends solely on good will of Lithuanians.
Whole oblast is liability to Russia, rather than asset. It's citizens will have highest living costs of entire nation, without any pros.
It seems it will only get poorer and emptier. I don't know if it could be considered as pain in the ass/thorn in the eye/rock in the shoe for Lithuania and Poland (which could be considered worth to keep for hostile country like Russia), when it will be physically separated by any obstacle possible.
What could Russia do about it?
What could anyone do about it?
