If the US Military is having a recruitment crisis, why don't they just create a new special visa for Indians to redeem that entails immediate enlistment but expedites citizenship after a tour of duty?

I think it would be a good policy but only in times of total conventional war and only for enlisted personnel. Sending poopjeets into the meatgrinder can only be a win-win because they either win the battle through sheer numbers or they die and nothing of value was lost. Sure some might survive the war but that's a small price to pay really.

Ideally yes but practically speaking if you start to blue-on-blue the sewer rats after the fighting is done then they might catch on and rebel. Easier just to let a (tiny) few of them survive and use them as recruitment propaganda to act as the carrot-on-a-stick if only to be on the safe side.
