CLIMATE CHANGE
You DO support renewable energy, right /pol/?

I've seen many people on /pol/ say:
>there is no point in renewable energy because china will keep polluting
But guess what, they're investing in renewables. Pic related.

You're retarded. You got dropped on your fucking head. All you repeat is advertising. It isn't smart.

That is more consumption. They're a heap of shit. They last on average a decade in fact less than that because any weather interrupts them. Winds heat cold rains. The acid in them depletes like a battery with lessening charge on lifetime. It still used fossil fuels to make containing lead and acid and glass that is smelted. Breaking them down as recycling is an exercise in madness. They're stacking up like rubber tires billions of tonnes of waste acid and lead that doesn't break down easily. On a product with a terrible average. A product made into a unit. It didn't cone out of tge ground like that. How much maintenance does that grid need there? They reflect causing fires. But in any weather it's inoperable. Heat they fail. Cold they fail. Birds shitting on them they fail. Wind they fail. Rain they fail. Not to mention hurricane and Earthquake.

What are they powering. More consumption. Not less consumption. More shitty phones and shitty cars and electric stoves and air-conditioning. More usage. More shitty products causing more waste.

More resource heavy doesn't recycle and breaks much quicker production. It has what affect on the climate Change. You fucking retard.

Where are the bees today? Explain. Since the cellphone they're critically endangered. Let's make more cellphones. You all need the EV. Explain that decline. There are few other factors. But the leading factor has been since the rise of the cellphone they're basically extinct and as its use and coverage has spread. Mass insect decline.

Why are you such a fucking retard.

The farther we get from the petrojew the better. I don't want the Middle East, Russia, and Venezuela to have any reason to believe they are relevant. I want nukes, solar, wind, geothermal, and maybe some biofuels (like HTC processing of sewage) in that order. Fossil fuels are gay boomer bullshit

Renewable energy is great as a suplimental energy source and I hope it improves over time.
Things like net zero are retarded tho, you stop using oil when its viable to do so, not just rush into it unprepared.

Nuclear power is fucking awesome too

Why are you so upset anon?

If solar panels really are so bad, why is China investing in them?

>>508779470
Seems a sensible move. Solar panels and wind turbines can give you energy independence so you're not dependent on imported oil/gas/etc.

Interesting view. Your view seems quite different to the views I normally see on /pol/.

>>508779620
Net zero would reduce climate change. Drought, famine, storms, wildfires. They could be reduced if we reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Look at pic related. Much of the world will suffer from climate change, and people in those areas might try to travel to Europe, which will be cooler. Even if you propose "let's just invest in a capable border force which will keep people out", that costs money. Maybe it's better to just invest directly in renewable sources of energy (and perhaps nuclear too because it doesn't produce greenhouse gases) which will reduce climate change, and also give the UK energy independence.

Climate change is a hoax. More CO2 is good for the planet. The concern should be about chemicals in the water supply, plastics in the water supply, overfishing, etc. Actual environmental concerns

Yes. They import coal and oil. This is also why they're pushing EVs because then they have to import less oil and need less gasoline for their populace.

>noooooo climate change Nooooooooooooo i want the present interglacial period to end so that we're plunged IMMEDIATELY into an ice age in which half of all land above the equator is covered by a mile-thick sheet of ice
dumb soifucks. you're crying about a POSSIBLE 1C rise in temperature when -10C could happen any century now.
we should be burning as much oil as possible to heat the planet up so that there is never again an ice age
unfortunately, there isn't enough oil in the world that we could burn to meaningfully affect global mean temperatures
Anonymous (ID: +a/3rS/U) Ukraine No.508782961 [Report]
>>508782814
There is zero need to burn everything to increase mean annuals. You need to reduce Earth's albedo.
Also ice ages don't happen that quick so counteracting them is not as urgent.

The Chinese are killing sparrows? Anyway I'm not saying the Chinese government has perfect judgement on everything, but they're a country that pursues their own self-interest, right? If they're investing in renewable energy, which they seem to be, then I think they've probably calculated that renewable energy is in their interests.

>>508781628
Clearly there are multiple benefits to renewable energy. Anyway, China has signed up to the Paris Agreement, while Trump pulled out of it I think. Maybe western countries should try to work with countries like China so that all countries are pulling their weight in trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

>More CO2 is good for the planet
It's not good for humans. It will lead to more famine, more drought, more storms, more wildfires. Plants use CO2, sure, but CO2 is not the only factor for plant growth. Water is a big factor for instance. See the picture here regarding the impact of climate change on crops: >>508780138

>>508782463
>>508783227
Yeah batteries are a way of storing energy, and also there's hydro pumped storage. You pump water uphill when there's surplus electricity, into a reservoir. Then when you need electricity, you let the water flow downhill, which spins a turbine.

>>508782564
I think the dumb fuck is you, Hans. Look at South Africa who had their system of apartheid. Did that system work out? Was it successful? OR did many countries boycott South Africa because of South Africa's harsh treatment of brown people?

If the UK tried to shoot migrants arriving on the shores of England, one of the first things that would happen would be civil unrest. Protests, civil disobedience, probably riots. There would be big costs. And of course foreign countries would try to punish the UK, e.g. through the European Court of Human Rights. And countries would boycott UK products and services, which would lead to many job losses in the UK.

In conclusion, you're a moron.

>>508784414
I haven't said anything like that. I think people of all ethnicities should be allowed to live with equal rights. As for religion, I think we should have freedom of religion, so people can believe in any religion they want (although I think there should be limits on how religion is practised - e.g. you can't go and do something illegal and say "it's okay because my religion believes in this").

>Look at South Africa who had their system of apartheid. Did that system work out? Was it successful?
Yes, dipshit, it worked admirably. The niggers there are even stupider than the ones in Europe. South Africa, who was advanced enough in the 1960s to produce nuclear weapons, now struggles to feed itself and to keep the lights on.

>one of the first things that would happen would be civil unrest
duh. That's why you'd have to keep shooting them or arsoning them until they got the hint and left. The Irish (who are barely even white themselves) can understand this; why can't you?

the most irritating thing about the disingenuous leftist faggots whose main argument is that oil companies are pushing the anti climate change is that when you point out they are not only currently producing record barrels a day, plan on increasing this year by year by 2030, but that they are also some of the biggest investors and benefactors from (((green tech))) adoption, they disappear and repeat their argument to someone else. These fucking gaylords have convinced themselves they are heroically saving the future of the planet for future generations when all they are doing is applauding the introduction of Scarcity era where everyone is eating bugs and trying not to get murdered by hordes of immigrants during blackouts

Solar technology sucks at current. But in the long-view the Earth is just a sponge that soaks up solar energy, every other form of energy is just solar energy with extra steps. Even fossil fuels come from extinct life which was only able to accumulate in the first place because of solar energy that primed the microbial food chain for billions of years.

Harnessing the energy output of the sun directly, almost all of which is completely wasted, is simply the most sensible long-term strategy for meeting energy needs. Everything else is an intermediary step that produces inefficiencies and waste.

That doesn't mean modern photovoltaic cells are good. And it doesn't mean they're the correct solution to "climate change". But it'd be really, really fucking dumb to look at the giant battery in the sky and not be asking yourself "how do we plug directly into that"
