>>508793695Anon, NASA only did what it did for commercial purposes too.
It's just that a private company will do tomorrow's work yesterday, while a public company will do yesterday's work next year.
Depending on NASA the way we have for our big hot air balloons we call satellites has retarded progress for decades.
Their massive hot air balloon called the ISS, whatever its true mission is, has been in operation for decades and yes while some studies there do take decades and people are trying to figure out what life does without gravity, the expansion of the ISS and completion of all the equipment and construction missions took decades longer than necessary.
Sure it's important to bring a super fast rocket up there with a huge payload capacity, and to make sure that it doesn't get blown up on purpose for a generational trauma event like the two space shuttles, but that doesn't mean you should take decades to prove a design on a spreadsheet before proving it in real life with autopilot and a live GoPro.
They're taking way too long to do their job.
Then again that's part of the job.
NASA is still Hebrew for "to deceive".
A mission SpaceSex is all too familiar with, with their bad dragon rocket engines punting a tin can up like it's a joke and the tennis rackets they use to control descent.
At least it doesn't have a hot air balloon. Yet.
