The answer is best explained as such: You have 3 doors, and your 2/3rds likely to lose, so you pick the losing door, and then the show host gives you another losing door, then you switch.

The dumb thing about this is that there are two completely different scenarios when you can see the doors or not.
1/3 a the first one, and as you see when switching, you have a 50% chance of switching to the right one, so switching would be the same as staying. The act of staying or switching doesn't change the probability, the act of knowing what is behind the doors do.
They also always assume that the door opened is a dud, which interferes with the fundamental mechanics of the scenario.
If you think about it, the scenario is the same if you start with 2 doors
