the UK, Germany and Scandanavia are commonly acknowledged as having the best hiring practices in the world, usuall the hiring process is three-stage:

phone call interview
online psychometric test
in person interview

first stage is done over the phone and is all about personality/culture/do you actually know what you are applying for/are you so retarded it is visible even over the phone

second stage is to judge whether or not you are an inductive thinker or deductive thinker (males tend to be inductive with women being deductive) as well as test for numerical and written literacy

third stage is to see what you actually look like, see if you are charismatic enough in person to hold a fluent conversation without your spegoid brain inhibiting you ability to artculate your ideas, see how you dress/hygiene etc and above all else to hit you with pressure questions that they KNOW you wont know the answer to just to see how you try to solve them in real time

almost all hiring managers have an option section where you give them your sex/gender identity/age/race/religion - these are optional and the hiring manager does not get to view this data, it's more for regional level managers to try and understand WHO is applying for these jobs

knew this decades ago. My sister and I went to the same college with similar degrees in engineering. I made good grades while she made average ones. When it came time to find a job she got several job offers immediately while I got nothing and not so much as one interview. Still 10 years later never had a job interview, even offering to work for free or min wage. Just work in fast food now cause that's all I can get.

I once applied for a job and the employer was asking all sorts of personal questions about sexual orientation and other bullshit like that. When I was at school we were taught to put as little as possible personal information on a CV to prevent discrimination but now it has become the norm. There was also another vacancy who wanted "Polish speakers" for a basic warehousing job, when I pointed out to the employment agency that this was discrimination they just shrugged.

Finland has a pretty strict equality law so they would get sued. You can only favour the underrepresented sex on the workplace in hiring if there's two equally merited applicants of differing sexes. I'm changing careers. From welder to it. Just go the comptia route for whichever job you prefer. Starting with comptia A+ it pays anywhere between 30-60k a year entry level -- High turnover too because it guys usually transfer to networking within a year. Depending on where you live, you could get a job where you're in the office all day pissing around on 4chan because there's been no calls. On site guys usually have a shit load of downtime depending on the business.

I am instructed to hire only women, because we have hardly any in our company (technical/engineering discipline) and this makes our ratios look bad in the annual report.

I mostly hire female project managers (who are useless because they know nothing about the domain) but the rest of my team (men) are good enough at the job that they dont really need strict project mgmt. The female project managers just fuck around with spreadsheets and trackers and organising calls mostly.

A shame though, because although we dont pay very well for the role, I'd rather have 1 more good engineer than 3 project managers who arent needed.

That's the beauty of it. You learn on the job, and since it's entry level if it is out of your skill set you escalate the problem to someone else. Most general it work is setting up emails, diagnosing hardware problems. It prepares you for most of the mundane shit you'll encounter.

I suggest you look up career pathways, jobs you'd be interested in, and how much they pay in your area. All you need is the cert college doesn't matter as much as the cert starting out. Then continually add certs from comptia and other online sources. Make sure it's respected stuff that looks good on a resume. That puts you leagues ahead of recent grads with just the degree,

We do have those weird IQ/personality tests here but only for some jobs. Some friends who applied to stuff like burger flipping or the postal service had to do them.
The hiring process for me as a teacher has just been in-person interviews (on zoom/teams/meet if the place is too far away) and then you just have 2 of them to discuss different things as the first one is an introduction and the second one is when they actually want to hire you so you discuss wage and other conditions.

My advice is that there doesn't seem to be a career in the factories for you. Whatever you decide on, make sure it involves switching careers (since you'll end up doing it at some point anyway). Firsthand anecdotal story; I was working at a prestigious PE firm that had a super, super competitive program for business school grads. Think the #1 program that top business school grads were applying to.
They got hundreds and hundreds of resumes. All exceptional. Mix was 85/15 men:women applying for this role, even though business schools are pretty close to 50/50.
The firm insisted on the final pool of applicants being 50/50.
A small example, but one of many explaining how much easier it is for women applicants. And even though quite a few women didn't work out, they were immediately hired after leaving for obvious reasons.

When the hiring manager doesn't have access to the ATS, HR Hags will filter out resumes by vibes. They literally will try and find your social media and go off of your looks.
