closing streets in front of schools = lose parking spots and now have to go around those schools when the streets are closed (there's literally 3 public schools near me 2 of which i cant avoid driving next to without adding a extra 5-10 mins to my commute)

>>508878025the problem is in a lot of places the cost of living isn't keeping up with the pay offered. rest of the country got really expensive to live in. nyc cost of food, services, fuel, electricity/telecom, etc all cost the same as the rest of the country.
florida is a great example, same costs for everything except housing (there it's cheap to buy a house, but ironically nearly the same price to rent) and taxes (no state or city tax so 10% less) but the pay is 30-40% lower in some cases
end result you end up having more disposable income living here
