Daily reminder
That you can die at any moment and it will be just like you never existed.
You won't take with you, your politics and your opinions.
Your consciousness will be completely annihilated and you'll rot away like the infinte creatures that ever lived in this universe.
Enjoy.

If the universe is cyclical (and it may well be) and infinitely so, we will eventually recombine. Being dead (not existing) is something you can't experience, so in effect after death the next thing you know will be your next iteration. Of course there will be no memory of previous ones.

Everything that can happen due to cause and effect will happen. In effect we never 'die'.

Everything is a "possibility" in theory, but in reality we have to make choices as to what is more likely.
Are pikachus in Andromeda a possibility? Theoretically sure, but it's more likely I just made it up so not really.
I don't see any compelling argument as to why infinity would be likely. What I think is infinitely more likely is that due to our need to cope with death we find refuge in these magical ideas. The whole concept of infinity is magical and not something we can really comprehend.

Well this boils down to an either materialist-only based explanation or an alternative that involves spirituality (non-physical) and we can only measure the physical. Non-physical explanations require religious beliefs (not provable).

Nothing is permanent, but cycles can in fact spin infinitely as they morph into spirals, this is a recursive and nested dynamic observed everywhere in nature. I understand people rejecting metaphysics due to the amount of mythology injected into them by gullible retards, but i don't get why all these natural dynamics we observe in nature aren't applied to consciousness if they apply to literally everything.

There are many ways life could continue after death, either externally or internally.
Anonymous (ID: oW3zU7iY) United Kingdom No.508909215 [Report] >>508909768

The fact that we are conscious at all is a somewhat 'magical idea' - if you want to think about what is more or less likely you have to look at the physics. Maybe look at the work of Roger Penrose. I am still researching the matter but I won't rule out the possibility that the universe recycles in aeons and this is one of infinite aeons. It's an entirely serious idea.
Anonymous (ID: 4wyi7Ujy) Portugal No.508909389 [Report]
>>508908821
What do you mean "from nothing"?
Consciousness is linked to our cognition. It's paradoxical for us to look inside and completely understand our will so you are demanding complete knowledge on matters that we are unable to figure out and you think that if I don't give you some godlike answer that you owned me or something. You are the simpleton.
The reality is that we know consciousness is related to our body and to our brain. If you drink too much you are considered in an "altered state of consciousness". If I shove a metal rod up your nose and scramble it around you will never be the same person again. You think consciousness is some magical platonic thing that exists out there independent of the body so you can't even begin to comprehend what I'm saying.
It's better for you if you don't. Your mind would break and you would spiral. Go back to schopenhauer.

You could think of not being conscious as being asleep. Before we are born the potential of us exists but isn't realised unless / until conception, and after that point our brain develops and we become conscious of existing. If what I posted earlier is correct, this happens an infinite number of times. What you get is one iteration of yourself after another with each one being perceived as being the only (current) one.

I get the sense that you feel the idea is a negative one, as if the implication is you turn to nihilism, but that's not necessarily the case at all. How people live is up to them or deterministic factors. People generally try to make the most of their lives through what they feel that entails including me.

it is. one giant state machine.
This is why i also hate those who claim we never die because "we're part of the universe and the universe is part of us" blah blah... no. it's just a state machine, made up of stuff in a particular arrangement.

is there an afterlife? sure... if your brain matter can be recreated exactly as it is right now.

and the thing about the "mutiverse" faggots as well... "infinite universe means infinite probabilities" ... no. just because there are infinite universes, doesn't mean that includes one where a certain group of x^100 particles and charges arranges itself once, or more than once (i.e. whether it's been done before or hasn't). infinity doesn't mean every possibility happens. some easier combinations repeat.. endlessly.

and no, not everything is encoded in the endless decimals of a number like pi

The material that is your physical body will start decomposing almost instantly upon death.

This biochemical process is, in fact, a transformation where bacteria, maggots, or even animals could physically eat you as food.

But so what? The atoms in your former "body" continue to exist in some form, either as energy for some animal or plant, or in a physical form for a veeeeeeeery long time. Your carbon atoms will probably continue to exist until the end of the universe.

The soul is nothing more than the ego, that's how is represented in most esoteric mystical frameworks. The ego relies on the linearity of time in order to exist as a coherent structure and form what many people call "the self".

All of this is tied to time perception. Time perception can be altered, it is in fact altered in all reports from people that have suffered clinical deaths. So who's to say we don't keep on living "internally"? Just as one of the possibilities, i find not many people explore this route.

how can you be so sure? you can't. perhaps we return, to do this all over again. over and over.
for example, this morning as i was walking back home, i had the sudden thought that PLTR is probably at a peak. by the time i got back and checked the chart, markets had already closed and it was down 9%. why didn't i have this thought yesterday, or earlier in the week, to profit from the trade? very weird. my life is riddled with stupid little shit like that, always being a day late, or some weird coincidence.

it makes me feel like i've already lived this life before, and that it's a test. if i don't do it correctly this time, i'll be doomed to repeat it. and understanding how to pass the test is the only way to escape, to break the loop.

also another quote "hate is baggage".
it really is, since we cannot act on it without getting severely punished. so it's basically this open wound in the psyche until you either use it or let it go. the best way to use it is as a filter, you avoid what you hate, you use hate to filter out those types of ppl (jews, nigs, etc.)

Nah, the universe is way too complex and holy/secretive for that to be the case. A part of me WISHES for eternal oblivion and nothingness, but I know it's not true. We are part of the core conciousness that has roots and branches everywhere. We will most likely just be reborn as another human. That is for the people that are NOT npcs.

it's possible that we are reborn into a better life in the distant future, if we make the right moves in this life and are not evil. that would be the "reward". and all these rich kids, or nepobabies as they are called now, they are being rewarded for their good deeds in past lives, decades or centuries ago. that might be the case. when you are reborn obviously you don't carry memories with you, but sometimes you get that feeling that you do remember something. this is what those "past life regression" ppl believe. basically similar to buddhist beliefs.

if you really reach buddha mode then i guess you get to be reborn into the next level, which is even better? i don't know.
