>>508926640That’s fine for you, but again you’re speaking in a way that makes no consideration for a family. Do your wife and kids only want to goto McDonald’s for the rest of their lives? Do you want your kids to get a shitty education in one of the worst states in America? Do you want a competitive income that you can save and retire comfortably with?
Many of these things are not available in rural areas - I know, I grew up in one. The people who live there never leave, they never go on trips, and they work the same job till they retire and then slowly pass away. That’s fine for some people, but again consider a family dynamic: is everyone in your house ok with that? Do you never want your kids to be exposed to anything outside of the tri county area? Is your wife going to be happy sitting in the house all day, watching the feminist daytime tv and getting fat because she doesn’t do anything all day?
You can live like this, but bringing a family into things complicates it. Different people want different things, and most people do not want to live out their days in rural Kansas, otherwise it would be booming.
There are opportunities for people out there who need them, who can’t earn a living in the cities. Your post is a perfect example of that; if people were willing to settle for less and a slower pace of life, they could make a life in these places. But most people want more, they just don’t want to work for it.
