>>508930361>>508931211I should add, this creates a negative feedback loop as well. They become captivated by an extreme ideology, they become ostracized as a result of holding said beleifs, their lonesomeness makes them more susceptible and bitter, and they continue ever further down these false paths with nobody to pull them out; they usually end up having to just learn the hard way, if they ever do.
The solution to dealing with these sorts of high IQ kids is (in my experience) to give them something better and more constructive to focus on. They enjoy exploring and solving problems, that’s why they end up becoming so deeply embedded in these beliefs in the first place. The difficulty is that once they latch onto an ideology, getting them to even consider an alternative is very difficult. If you’re a seasoned user of this site and you understand their experiences (like I do) you can speak their language and help them out, but for outsiders there is a barrier to entry to reach them. That’s what I’ve been trying to do. These are smart kids and they are very capable. You can see immediately how much control and influence 4chan has over the rest of the internet as a result. They just need to be pointed in the correct direction so they can contribute positively to society instead of being counterproductive
